Remote locations need special skills, equipment and training. Red Cross offers Remote and Wilderness First Aid courses to meet your needs.
This course is the Red Cross Remote First Aid Program and is one of the leading programs of its kind in Canada. Day one will be held at the Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre in Oakville and Day 2 will be held at Blue Springs Scout Reserve in Acton.
The program includes:
- Wilderness & Remote Field Guide
- Learning activities and scenarios with real-life situations specifically designed for wilderness and remote environments.
- Opportunities for hands-on, practical learning with 50% of the course taught in an outdoor setting so participants.
Who should take this course:
Suitable for individuals who live or work in non-urban, remote or wilderness workplaces or communities.
Environment:
- Remote workplaces or communities (2 or more hours from organized health care)
Planned Trip: Day trip
Care: Participants learn skills and strategies for providing care in a remote setting for up to 24 hours
