All Course Registrations are subject to the following policies.
Full payment at the time of registration is required. This ensures that there is a spot held for you in your scheduled class.
Any rescheduling or cancellation requests of First Aid or online course must be made in writing to [email protected] a minimum of 3 full business days prior to your in-person course, regardless of when you registered. If you registered within 3 days of the start of your scheduled, in-class course, you will not be permitted to transfer or cancel with refund.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made in writing, 3 business days prior to the start of your scheduled training session, are subject to a $25 (plus HST) administration fee. Only one rescheduling opportunity is permitted. If you reschedule to a new date, you forfeit the right to any refund.
There are no refunds or rescheduling for students who fail to attend their scheduled in-person training session.
Please notify SOS First Aid in advance of any absence due to illness. A notified absence due to illness will be treated as a Course Transfer and subject to a $25 administration fee.
As an additional precaution against transmission of covid, colds and influenza, you will not be permitted to attend a class if you exhibit signs of such illness. You will be asked to request a transfer to a different date.
Participants are required to attend the entire class, and participation is mandatory. Because of this, late arrivals will not be accommodated, and you will not be eligible for a transfer or refund.
Participants are evaluated based on their ability to perform the first aid and CPR skills during the course, in addition to a written multiple-choice test.
Refunds are not provided for unsuccessful attempts.
The CPR course requires physical exertion. Individuals with existing medical conditions, such as pregnancy, bone, muscle, and joint conditions, respiratory conditions, should consult a doctor prior to attendance. We do not assume any risk or liability for injuries or illness that may result from course participation. Please talk to your doctor and stay safe.
BLENDED COURSES
Due to the limited number of spots in our classes and access to pre-course work, NO refunds will be issued for any blended course registrations where students have started the online modules.
Failure to complete online modules.
It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure they have received access to the pre-course online modules. If you have not received an email from the Canadian Red Cross within 48 hours of registration, please contact the office immediately at [email protected]. If you register for a course taking place within that time frame, contact the office during regular business hours to have the online component resent to you.
These modules must be completed before your in-person session begins and there are no exceptions. You will not be admitted to your class without the completion of the modules. No refunds will be provided, and no transfers are available due to non-completion of modules.
