Course Information

This online hoisting/slinging and rigging safety training course covers practices, techniques and regulations to safely sling and rig loads in accordance with Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z150-98 regulation, applicable in Canada. Whether you are located in BC, Alberta to Ontario and over to Newfoundland, we have you covered! The course also adheres to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards set in the United States.

Without proper skills to support rigging and slinging, not only are crane operators and riggers lives at risk when cranes malfunction, but ground works and the public can also suffer serious injuries.  As crane operators, it is necessary to understand and respect the machines and to practice safe operating, rigging and slinging procedures.

Rigging loads is a skilled art supported by a sound engineering discipline. The task of lifting, moving, and holding heavy loads implies a certain level of risk and with proper training and experience, the level of risk can be minimized. On completion of the course, you will be able to demonstrate the physical skills of rigging, as well as proper rigging techniques and judgement.
