Course Information

This online hoisting and rigging training course covers practices, techniques and regulations to safely sling and rig loads in accordance with Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z150-98 regulation, which is applicable in Canada. The course also adheres to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards.

Without proper skills to support rigging and slinging, not only are crane operators and riggers lives at risk when cranes malfunction, but ground works and the public can also suffer serious injuries.  As crane operators, it is necessary to understand and respect the machines and to practice safe operating, rigging and slinging procedures.

Rigging loads is a skilled art supported by a sound engineering discipline. The task of lifting, moving, and holding heavy loads implies a certain level of risk and with proper training and experience, the level of risk can be minimized. On completion of the course, you will be able to demonstrate the physical skills of rigging, as well as proper rigging techniques and judgement.
