Pharmacists are at the front line of helping patients to navigate through COVID-19. Pharmacists provide the community with current information about COVID-19 or they can assist and educate you to manage your medication requirements. With the  current flu shot injections and the developing COVID-19 vaccine expected in early 2020, pharmacists will likely play a major role as the frontline worker in the COVID-19 vaccine injection program.

For pharmacists to prepare for their vaccine injection role, this process will closely resemble the method in which flu shots are administered today. Pharmacists will have to ensure they receive the appropriate injection training for a COVID-19 vaccine, from a place like the Ontario Pharmacists Association, by attending an injection program. They will also have to acquire or re-certify their Standard First Aid and CPR-C with  AED certifications to register for injection training with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.

SOS First Aid & Safety Training offers both private and public training in first aid & CPR that will support the injection program  Our engaging Red Cross trained instructors have many years of experience training first aid and CPR to thousands of students (from many professions) every year over our 15 year history.
