What is Online Blended-learning Course?

A blended learning course is a combination of online training and in-person, face-to-face training. The theory and information are covered by learners through the online training portion. Upon successful completion of the online course, the learner presents their Red Cross Course Certificate when attending their scheduled in-class session. The in-class training portion will focus on skills development to practice the theory covered in the course. The in-class skills session is led by a Certified Red-Cross instructor with SOS First Aid.

About Red Cross Blended First Aid Courses

There are 3 Red Cross Blended First Aid and CPR Level C courses available to support your personal or employer requirements: Standard First Aid, Emergency First Aid and CPR.  These courses include the knowledge and use of an AED.

Completion:  To successfully complete the course, the learner must demonstrate skills and critical steps, obtain a 75% min. passing mark for the written knowledge evaluation, must attend and participate in 100% of the course.

Online to In-Person Timing: With the COVID-19 situation, WSIB recently announced all certifications that expire after March 1, 2020 are automatically temporarily extended until September 30, 2020. By completing the online portion of this blended learning course, this will provide the student a temporary certification until they complete the in-class portion of the course. This allows a learner to begin the online training portion now. SOSFirst Aid will monitor the situation and once we resume in-class courses, SOS will contact participants to schedule their in-person training.

NOTE Our online courses are self-paced. Participants may leave the course at any time and can resume where they left off. The duration will vary depending on the individual learner and their prior knowledge of the subject matter.
