This blended (online/in-class) course is a Standard First Aid (SFA) Certification course. This blended (online/in-class) course is taken in place of the in-class Standard First Aid Certification course. The BLS portion of the class in completed in-class.
This course covers first aid and CPR BLS skills for those who need training due to work or school requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home and in the community. This course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards (i.e. WSIB in Ontario) and includes the most current first aid and CPR guidelines.
Standard First Aid Topics include: Preparing to respond, the EMS system, Check, Call, Care, airway emergencies, breathing and circulation emergencies, first aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest, wound care, head, neck and spine injuries, bone, muscle and joint injuries, sudden, medical emergencies, environmental illnesses, and poisons (includes opioid poisoning).For Standard First Aid course details, click on the SFA Fact Sheet.
