What You’ll Learn
Principles of first aid: Check, Call, Care and how to assess an emergency scene
EMS system overview and your role as a first aide
Anaphylaxis and EpiPen use
First aid for breathing and circulation emergencies, wounds, and sudden medical conditions
CPR Level C for infants, children, and adults, including two-person CPR
AED training and safe infection control practices
Techniques to stabilize head and spinal injuries until help arrives
Training & Certification
This blended course combines self-paced online learning with one day of hands-on instruction. Under the guidance of Red Cross–certified instructors, participants engage in practical scenarios, including CPR/AED on adult, child, and infant manikins; clearing airway obstructions; and proper bandaging techniques. Learners also practice spinal positioning and recovery procedures. Regular evaluations ensure skill mastery.
The course meets WSIB workplace first aid certification standards and aligns with CSA standards, ensuring your certification is recognized across Ontario. Graduates receive a 3-year Burlington Standard First Aid, CPR C and AED certificate, with re-certification available once before expiry.
