Prepayment at the time of registration is required. Any rescheduling and cancellation requests must be made in writing to [email protected]. Due to the limited number of students in our classes due to COVID-19, the following refund, cancellation and transfer policies will apply.
SOS First Aid and Safety Training Business Days and Hours of Operation are Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm. Our administration office is closed on weekends and government holidays.
Course Cancellation By SOS First Aid
Should it be necessary for SOS First Aid to cancel a course due to low enrolment or instructor illness, your registration will be transferred to another course at no charge or a full refund will be issued.
Student Course Cancellation/Transfer Request (must be made at least 3 business days in advance!)
NOTE: All student transfers/cancellation requests with less than 3 business days notice are not permitted. To cancel or transfer a course, this request must be made in writing at minimum of three (3) full business days prior to the scheduled course date. An allowable transfer/cancellation request must be made by emailing [email protected] and allowable cancellations are subject to a $25 administration fee.
Please note our normal business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm (excluding holidays). NOTE: Our office is closed weekends and government holidays.
BLENDED COURSES – No cancellations or refunds for Blended Courses
Due to the limited number of spots in our classes, NO refunds will be issued for blended course registrations. A blended course includes access to the pre-course online modules and your in-person training session. There is no refund for students who do not show up for your scheduled in-person training session.
It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure they have received access to the pre-course online modules. If you have not received an email from Red Cross within 48 hours of registration, please contact the office immediately at [email protected]. These must be completed before your in-person session. There is no exception. You will not be admitted to your class without the completion of the modules. No refunds will be provided and no transfers are possible.
INSTRUCTOR COURSES – No cancellations, refunds or transfers permitted
Due to the small number of attendees for instructor courses, no cancellations or transfers are permitted. We require a minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 8 people to run Red Cross instructor courses.
NON-BLENDED COURSES – Cancellations and Transfer
Any requests to cancel or transfer a non-blended course must be made in writing at least 3 business days in advance of your scheduled training session. No refunds will be issued for cancellations or transfers made with less than 3 business days in advance of your course. For transfers to another date, 3 business days notice is required. There is a $25 administration fee to transfer a course to another date.
Once a candidate transfers to another course, the candidate may no longer request or obtain a refund should they decide to subsequently cancel or downgrade the certification training course for which they were originally registered.
When candidates do not show up for the course for which they have registered, the full course fee per candidate will be charged and no refund will be given.
Please notify SOS First Aid in advance of any absence due to illness. A notified absence due to illness will be treated as a Course Transfer and subject to an administration fee.
As an additional precaution against transmission of covid, colds and influenza, you will not be permitted to attend a class if you exhibit signs of such illness. You will be asked to request a transfer to a different date.
The CPR course requires physical exertion. Individuals with existing medical conditions such as pregnancy, bone, muscle, and joint conditions, and respiratory conditions, should consult a doctor prior to attendance. We do not assume any risk or liability for injuries or illness that may result from course participation. Please talk to your doctor and stay safe.
Course cancellation by Safety On Site:
Though rare, Safety On Site reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule a course in the case of an emergency, instructor illness or low class enrolment. In such an event, participants may choose either a full refund or transfer to another date.
Safety On Site will attempt to notify participants of any cancellations at least 48 hours prior to a course.
During winter months we will attempt to notify participants of any cancellations due to storm conditions at least 24 hours prior to a course.
ACCESSING YOUR CERTIFICATION: Approximately three to four business days after your course, you will receive an email from the Canadian Red Cross inviting you to create a profile on the My Red Cross website. Your online certificate will be available to view, download and print AFTER you create your profile and login. Please contact us if you have any difficulty retrieving your certification.
Course Requirements:
Participants are required to attend the entire class, and participation is mandatory.
Participants are evaluated based on their ability to perform the first aid and CPR skills during the course, in addition to a written multiple choice test.
Refunds are not provided for unsuccessful attempts.
