People need social service workers for many different reasons, but one common trait across the personal support worker industry is the high level of trust that develops between the support professional and their clients.
Building this trust takes time and effort, and can be enhanced if your client knows that you have the skills to help them in a health emergency.
This is why SOS First Aid & Safety Training offers first aid & CPR courses for social service workers, as well as recertification courses for those in social service.
Whether you’re a PSW seeking First Aid Certification, or you work in childcare and want to learn first aid, or a social worker who wants that extra skill set, we can help. The instructors at SOS First Aid & Safety Training provide Red Cross approved first aid & CPR training for professionals across the Greater Toronto Area, including social service workers.
As a Canadian Red Cross Training Partner and Affiliate of the Lifesaving Society, our instructors are fully qualified to teach First Aid & CPR. Our First Aid & CPR programs are WSIB approved and meet standards established by Federal Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Our programs are taught in easy-to-follow steps, allowing graduates to act on, prevent, and manage life’s emergencies wherever they may occur. Instruction is hands-on and interactive and is supported by a variety of training materials, including CPR mannequins, AED trainers, bandages and splinting materials, barrier devices, auto-injector trainers, inhalers, and more.
We provide flexible scheduling options, so that courses can be run on weekdays, evenings, or weekends. Please allow 2 – 3 weeks prior notice for us to accommodate your dates.
If online training is more convenient, we also offer a wide selection of online WHMIS & safety training courses to satisfy almost every business safety need.
