Everyone should have knowledge and training in first aid. This is because with accidents happening around us all the time, the understanding of basic first aid procedures could be what is needed to save a life or prevent a medical emergency from getting worse.
We have rapid response services for such emergencies but a lot could go wrong before they arrive at the scene. The victim of an accident can lose a lot of blood from his or her injuries, a child could choke from an obstruction in his or her airway and a cardiac arrest patient could lose his or her life.

What Does the Training Include?
The training provides learners with practical skills in first aid, CPR and AED that will help them respond to medical emergencies at home, at work and in the community. Learners will be taught how to identify and respond to medical emergencies as well as how to care for patients as they wait for emergency medical services (EMS) to arrive.
The course on First Aid covers areas such as first aid care for breathing and respiratory problems, choking, wound care and treating head and spinal injuries. Learners will also be guided on how to prevent disease transmission when dealing with patients as it is important to protect oneself when dealing with medical emergencies that are contagious.
Our training on cardiopulmonary resuscitation level C (CPR C) provides learners with the skills needed to identify and respond appropriately to cardiovascular medical emergencies for infants, babies, and adults including 2-person CPR. The course satisfies all the legislative requirements and includes how to use an AED and why early defibrillation is important to patients suffering from cardiovascular emergencies.
Training, Evaluation & Certification
Learners will go through an intensive 14 – 16 hour training program that equips them with the theory and practical skills needed to perform the procedures highlighted above. Scheduling options are flexible and can be discussed with the learner. After the training, learners are expected;
- Demonstrate one adult/child/infant CPR on a manikin.
- Simulate how to treat a conscious child/adult whose airway is obstructed.
- Simulate how to treat an unconscious child/adult whose airway is obstructed.
- Demonstrate how to bandage a head injury as well as the right sling and arm support.
- Demonstrate the log roll for a victim with a spinal injury.
Upon completion of the course, candidates earn a 3-year certificate in Standard First Aid with CPR level C and AED that is recognized at the workplace. Learners can take a one-time re-certification program before the expiry date noted on the certification.
