Course Details
This course teaches individuals how to respond to medical emergencies in a safe and confident manner. Victims of accidents and other medical emergencies are always in pain and shock and as a first aider, you ought not to panic when handling such cases.
You need to assure the victim that everything will be alright and you will fail at this when you panic as well. The ability to remain calm comes from the mastery of first aid procedures and this course is the way to go about that. You will learn how to access emergencies and your role and responsibilities as a first aider.
Notifying EMS of an accident/emergency is one of your roles as a first aider and this course will take you through the EMS system. Other things that you will learn when you enroll for this course include;
The principles of First Aid which are Check, Call, Care.
How to treat different emergencies such as breathing complications, airway blockages, burns, wounds, and environmental emergencies.
How to administer first aid for; Head and spine injuries, bone and muscle injuries, cardiac arrest and respiratory complications.
Training on Standard CPR C (adult, child, and infant include 2-person CPR).
What an AED is and how to apply it.
Understanding the recovery position and how to set up a victim in this position.
Training and Evaluation
Our instructors are qualified and experienced in the latest first aid tools and technologies. As Red Cross’ official training partner, our instructors are constantly exposed to advanced first aid training and we pass this information to those who enroll for the course. Learners are also assessed regularly during the 2-day program so as to ensure they grasp all the information taught in class.
Certification
Students earn certificates when they complete the training program. The certification is valid for 3 years and it is recognized by all employers. Learners will have to seek Recertification only once during this period. Our certification includes the following;
This course is for anyone. No prior first aid training is required. Parents, teachers, and daycare providers are advised to register for this cause as they are always around kids. Others who should sign up for this program include camp counselors, pharmacists, lifeguards, and employers and employees in small and large organizations.
