Session Overview
What is a Respirator Mask Fit Test?
First of all, masks or respirators that require fit testing include N95, and half-face respirators. A respirator mask fit test is done to ensure the mask is properly fitted to a person’s face type to provide the safest protection. A successful fit test certifies the mask’s seal to a person’s face is working properly to maximize the benefits of the mask.  There are 2 types of mask fit tests that can done, known as a Qualitative test or a Quantitative test.

There is a growing need for mask respiratory protection in many industries. Our clients include dental practises, personal support workers (PSW), long-term care facilities, manufacturing, food services, construction, logistics and distribution, and even golf courses to name a few.  When N95 or a half-face (P100) respirator mask are used at the workplace, mask fit testing is mandatory as it is a health and safety regulatory requirement.  SOS First Aid provides a flexible and cost-effective N95 mask, P100 respirator mask, and approved KN95 mask fit services to support your need.

We offer Qualitative mask fit testing (QFLT) both at your location and pre-scheduled public  individual mask fit sessions.

Our mask fit testing program offers QLFT based on Occupational Health and Safety (OHSA) regulations.  This PPE program meets the requirement for respirator fit testing based on the current Canadian CSA-Z94 standard (use and care of respirators).  In addition to N95 masks, we also mask fit test approved KN95 and P100 half face masks. Please note that Respirator Mask Fit Certification is specific to the make and model of the mask.

Why is Mark Fit Testing Required?

If an N95 mask is used at a place of work, it MUST follow OHSA regulations CAN/CSA Z94.4-18 standard and all wearers MUST be fit tested. If an N95 mask is used at home or for personal use, fit testing is not required.

Our 3M certified mask fit instructors have mask fit tested tens of thousands participants in southwestern Ontario.

Please note, participants are required to BRING YOUR OWN approved masks to the session, ULNESS you require a 3M N95 mask. In this case we can assist you with a 3M mask as part of our registration process.
