Please note that Standard First Aid is a 3-year certification whereas BLS is a 1-year certification.
BLS only Prerequisites: Current and valid Red Cross or other WSIB approved agency CPR BLS certification (proof of certification is required). To be eligible for a BLS recertification class, your current certification card must not be expired. Please register for a full BLS course if your card certification date has expired.
Standard First Aid CPR C Prerequisites: Current and valid Red Cross (proof of certification is required). Re-Certification is ONLY permitted for those who have a previous Standard First Aid CPR C certificate that is not yet expired. Proof of certification is due on the day of the course (within the last 3 years) and it MUST be a Canadian Red Cross certificate. Re-Certification is only permitted once after every full certification. You are required to complete a two-day full certification if your current card says recertification on it and your prior course was a one-day recertification course.
Evaluation: Written/practical
Program Length: 1 day for full 3-year recertification course (100% attendance required)
NOTE: In order to recertify, you need to provide both a valid Non-Expired Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid certification (not already recertified) AS WELL AS A WSIB approved, Non-Expired BLS Certification.
