First Aid & CPR Instructors support the Red Cross First Aid Program through the delivery of our First Aid and CPR courses. Candidates enter our comprehensive Instructor Development Program, designed to prepare them to support dynamic, learner-centred classroom environments. Certification is valid for three years.

This course is for existing Red Cross First Aid Instructors who need to recertify to remain current. Recertification is required every 3 years.

Transfer Course

There are two options for instructor candidates who wish to transfer instructional ability and skills from another program/agency to Canadian Red Cross First Aid Programs. This is an application process through Instructor Development Centres.

Red Cross Psychological First Aid Instructor Course

The Red Cross Psychological First Aid Instructor training program is a two-day in-class program aimed at developing instructor candidates to teach and facilitate the Red Cross Psychological First Aid (PFA) program.

Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Course

The Red Cross Basic Life Support Instructor program is completed in two days. It is designed to prepare instructor candidates to teach and facilitate the basic life support program to participants usually with a health-care background.

For something I was dreading spending money on and doing, I actually ended up wanting more of and am looking forward to another opportunity to take more classes with SOS! Learning from Ally has been both enjoyable and inspiring. My classmates and I spent our break time discussing the material we learned and also how impressed we were with the content and delivery.
