SOS First Aid spent three fantastic days from September 16 – 18, 2018 at the Canadian Society of Safety Engineers conference in beautiful Niagara Falls. The event was held at the Scotiabank Convention Centre: a perfect venue to connect with safety professionals from across Canada and a few from the United States.Dinner was held at the beautiful Queen Victoria restaurant overlooking the Falls at night. The scene of the Falls lit up in red, blue and white was the breath-taking backdrop while we sipped on Ontario wines from Peller Estates and enjoyed a delicious meal.
Niagara Falls has a long history of attracting tourists and convention participants from all over the world. Tourism in the region began in the 1820s and within 50 years it had increased ten-fold to become the area’s dominant industry. Now it is estimated that Niagara Falls sees more than 30 million people each year and the number of visitors continues to rise. The city is just an hour and a half from Toronto. The region attracts locals and foreigners alike to see the three waterfalls that straddle the international border between the Canadian province of Ontario and the American state of New York. They form the southern end of the Niagara Gorge.
Visitors at the CSSE conference came from a variety of industries and we had the opportunity to meet many of them at our booth, during breakout sessions, keynote speeches and meals. We made some wonderful connections and made some new friends. Executives from sectors such as transportation, construction, education and oil and gas came by to talk to SOS representatives about their challenges and learn more about the SOS library of online safety courses and EHS platform. For more information about our online offerings, please contact Mario Sacco, Vice President of Business Development. He can be reached at [email protected] or 416-312-557.
The highlight of the conference was meeting so many extraordinary people, passionate about keeping people safe every day on their jobs, in the community and at home. SOS was thrilled to be apart of the CSSE community and we are looking forward to next year in Vancouver.
