The Canadian Standards Association: CSA Standard Z1210–17
CSA Z1210-17 is a national standard that aligns Workplace First Aid training and certification requirements across Canada. It outlines expectations for both the course content and certification process, as well as the necessary workplace First Aid kit contents.
To support national recognition, the Canadian Red Cross has adopted the CSA standard into its First Aid training programs. As more provinces and territories implement this standard, certifications issued by the Red Cross now reflect CSA compliance.
When you complete training with SOS First Aid, your Canadian Red Cross certificate will indicate that your course meets CSA Z1210-17 requirements and will show the CSA certification:
- Emergency First Aid – Meets Basic CSA Level Standards
- Standard First Aid – Meets Intermediate CSA Level Standards
- Advanced First Aid – Meets Advanced CSA Standards
This alignment ensures your certification is current, credible, and meets national workplace First Aid standards.
