One of the most common questions we receive is:
“Is SOS First Aid a WSIB-approved provider? I can’t seem to find you on the WSIB website.”
So, we’re here to help clear up the confusion.
SOS First Aid has proudly been a Canadian Red Cross Training Partner for the past 20 years, and we recently celebrated our 20-year anniversary. Even after two decades of training thousands of students across Ontario, we still regularly get asked if we are WSIB approved because our business name does not appear directly on the WSIB approved provider list.

Here’s why:
Although our name is SOS First Aid, we operate under the Canadian Red Cross as an official training partner. The WSIB recognizes approved training agencies, and the Canadian Red Cross is one of those recognized providers. All of our instructors are Red Cross-trained.
That means the certifications issued through SOS First Aid are Canadian Red Cross certifications and meet WSIB workplace requirements and CSA Z1210:24 standards.
Another question we have recently started hearing is:
“Will your training still be approved after June 22, 2026?”
The answer is YES!!!
The WSIB is launching an updated First Aid Program on June 22, 2026, which will align workplace first aid training with the new Canadian Standards Association standard, CSA Z1210:24. The Canadian Red Cross has already made many updates to align with these new requirements and standards, and we have already started implementing them in our classrooms.
According to the WSIB, approved providers will continue delivering workplace first aid training under the updated program.
So yes — when you train with SOS First Aid, you are receiving training through an approved Canadian Red Cross training partner, both now and moving forward into the new 2026 standards.
If you ever have questions about WSIB approval, certification validity, or the upcoming changes to workplace first aid training, our team is always happy to help.
